ABOUT
Wilson Chan was born in Brooklyn, New York. He earned a BFA at The School of Visual Arts majoring in advertising. From 1998 - 2002, Chan worked as a graphic designer on national campaign ads for Nautica and visualized new marketing ideas for The Limited brands while simultaneously producing fashion show soundtracks for young designers like Peter Som. In the summer of 2002, Chan was hired to produce the music for Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent. He has since continued to produce special events music and has contributed to establishing the in-store music concepts for Mr. Ford. From 2003 - 2008, he was the design director of the bi-annual release of MAO MAGAZINE which celebrated fashion industry mavens and cult icons. He continues to freelance as an art director while simultaneously producing music for fashion show and special events like the Night of Stars gala for Fashion Group International, which he served for five consecutive years as music director. MRWILSONDJ's work has been featured in publications such as The New York Times, The Boston Globe and National Public Radio.
